Playa Lobón is a small beachside urbanization whose main feature is its huge garden with two large swimming pools and many mature trees and shrubs. This size of garden and green space is extremely rare on the Costa del Sol. The urbanization is very secure, with locked gates. You walk from the house through the garden directly to the beach, where there are views of Gibraltar and the north African coast. Within five minutes’ walk there is a sandy bay (Cristo beach) which has two chiringuitos. The bay at Cristo beach was dredged years ago and, as a consequence, provides a very safe and secure, shallow dip into the warm sea for children.

The house is around 50 minutes’ drive from Málaga airport and 25 minutes from Gibraltar. Estepona is a medium sized Andalusian town which retains a lot of character and has a pretty port and marina. There are a variety of shopping choices.The urbanization is flanked on each side by two luxury hotels with restaurants and spas for non-residents.

The playa Lobón houses have largely a mix of Spanish, Scandinavian and British owners. The urbanization is very tranquil, with a few all-year-round owners and a majority of holiday home owners. The houses have high rental potential all year round, with numerous golf courses nearby and 320 days of sun per year. Two international schools are nearby, one in Estepona and the other in Sotogrande.

Puerto Banus and Marbella are close by. Puerto Banus is around 15 minutes’ drive away and has a variety of nightlife, designer shopping and restaurants…and plenty of yachts to look at ! Marbella is a large town with a modern part and a traditional old town, with orange trees and restaurants surrounding the old square, with cobbled streets leading off it.
